Undead - 02 - Gold Skeleton

A skilled Paladin Seeker can give you an accurate profile on just about any Lich or Necromancer merely by examining one of their undead servants. Each Necromancer has their own styles or taste and they incorporate these traits into the undead they summon.

Take Baroness Katrina for example. She had her Elite Guard pulled apart and dipped into pure gold encrusting them with rare jewels. There armored bones can absorb a tremendous amount of damage before being breaking down and they are perfect for shielding their master from most forms of attack. The added weight of the dense metal plating gives their attacks a tremendous boost in damage potential making them capable of slicing through even the thickest armor.

Its rumored that Katrina's Elite Guard were former lovers who scorned her or turned away from her intense beauty. As she's not the forgiving type, their betrayal landed them in a position were they would never have to leave her side. Gold Skeletons are a true testament to Katrina's wealth and power. Each one is rumored to be worth millions in raw materials alone. They also serve as useful decoys to the greedy who would attempt to best one in hopes of becoming rich. Their misjudgment of confusing them as a simple skeletal soldiers has lead to many a pillagers untimely demise.

Elite undead are not to be taken lightly they can continue to function well after their master has been slain and fight with an unrivaled ferocity. Most times its very easy to tell an Elite undead from a basic one though sometimes they are cleverly hidden in the ranks of basic soldiers to bolster the strength of the unit. Rare Elite undead have been known to exist even in the natural undead realm. Lesser Necromancers not skilled enough to tell the difference between the two types will normally end up as carrion themselves.
