Wolf Girl - First Shift

The first transformation of a Lycan youth is a terrifying event for any involved. As blood boils, bones splinter, and muscles rend themselves apart a cacophony of new senses and emotions wash over their very being. Lycan youths are incapable of fighting the new found urges their bodies crave. They can literally become berserk animals capable of anything. The first goal of a newly transformed werewolf is to feed and replenish the massive amounts of nutrients lost during their transformation. If this mass isn't replenished within a few hours a wolf pup can find themselves literally dying of starvation. The second urge to take control of a young lycan's mind is to procure a mate. Females usually don't have an issue with this phase but young pretentious males often find themselves torn apart limb from limb by the more domineering males.

The den mother can sense when her pups are becoming ready for their first shift with an accuracy of a few days. She does everything in her power to ensure she is there for her children's first transformation to protect them from themselves and the looming threats of the forest evermore. She will be there to show them how to capture their first meal and will even go as far as to maim and kill any number of rival males necessary to ensure the longevity of her pack.

In those instances where no one is available to guide the adolescent through their first transformation it is not uncommon for them to be overtaken by terror or rage. They will run wild into the night seeking whatever has blood warm enough to make a meal of. All too often they can end up picked off by hunters or mercenaries, or worst yet be devoured whole by any number of the monstrosities lurking about the forest evermore. There have even been situation where entire villages have been devoured by a single berserk youth.The den mother in those situations where she has arrived too late will become like a berserk demon ready to destroy anything that gets between her and her offspring. Few things are feared more among the lycan clans than a pissed off matriarch looking for blood.

This is officially my first fully completed CG piece done with my new Cintiq tablet. It started out as a light warm up to another drawing but it was going so well that I ended up staying up all night to finish it. XD
